I am Ross Smith the Team Leader of SE 24 and last year I devised an idea to raise money for a local charity that we could all appreciate and that's when I thought of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
I knew all of the team may not wish to actually walk the three peaks but everyone on the team is involved by either supporting with equipment, driving, walking or raising money and this is fantastic team working. Â
The dates of the challenge are, 4th June drive to Fort William in Scotland and stay over night. Â Then on the 5th June we start climbing Ben Nevis at around 1600. Â We have to climb all three in under 24 hours and this includes the drive times between the three mountains. After we complete Ben Nevis we then travel to Scafell Pike in the Lake District and from there we travel to Mount Snowdon in North Wales.
There are seven of us climbing:Â Ross Smith, Mat Purssey, Hannah Ockwell, Chris Addoo, Tom Davies, Craig Turner and Davina Geraghty. Â The support drivers are Karen Cardwell, Dick Tyne, Iain Reeves and Steve Gooch. Â We are using two mini buses and travelling in convoy at a safe and steady speed.
Once we have completed the Snowdon climb on the 6th June we are then returning to Fareham Ambulance Station and then home.

We have team t-shirts being made and a banner to hold for the photos at the top of each mountain.
