The Great South Run is Europeâ€™s most popular 10 mile race and started life in Southampton back in 1990 before moving just a few miles along the M27 motorway to the neighbouring city of Portsmouth 12 months later.
We have 8 places, 6 of which remain at the moment, in this year's Great South Run. You will be running around historic Portsmouth. Â Starting at Southsea Common the route takes you through the historic city of Portsmouth with the last half guiding you into the flat and fast route in the Portsmouth Docks, around HMS Nelson and past HMS Warrior returning to the Common for the finish where you will receive that all important medal, oh and your time if you want it! To keep you going thereâ€™s bands en route â€“ giving you s boost Â with music motivation and of course we will be there sparing you on.
