BLUE Watch firefighters from Horwich Fire Station paid a
visit to a local resource centre where they demonstrated
life-saving skills to parents.
The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crew headed to
Horwich Resource Centre on Thursday, December 5, where they
delivered a Heartstart course.
Crew Manager Mark Anderson said: "We delivered the course to the
Mums 4 Mums and Tots Group based at Horwich Resource Centre, and in
the space of two hours we managed to train 16 mums and dads in
basic life support and CPR.
"We also answered questions that the parents had and gave advice
on care and first aid treatment for paediatrics."
All the parents received a certificate to recognise their new
skills that could help them save a life.
