STOCKPORT residents are safer thanks to a partnership between
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) and Stockport
Homes Ltd (SHL).
Both organisations have pledged to improve fire safety by
working together to keep residents living in SHL properties
SHL staff will receive fire safety training from colleagues in
GMFRS and have agreed to point individuals who need the help of the
fire service in the direction of GMFRS.
Stockport Borough Manager Jon Heydon said: "Our goal is to
protect and improve the quality of life for people living in the
communities we serve.
"This partnership will build on the successful work we have
already achieved by working with SHL. This agreement is part of our
commitment to continually improve services locally.
Helen McHale Chief executive of SHL said: "We are delighted to
be renewing this partnership agreement as we are committed to
improving the quality of life for our customers and the environment
in which they live."
"The Home Safety Checks carried out by GMFRS will help to ensure
that the people we work with continue to live safely at home."
