BETWEEN 5.30pm Thursday, March 23 and 8.30am Friday, March 24 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 97 calls and attended 54 incidents.
Here are some of the incidents firefighters attended:
Building Fire – Bolton
AT 6.30pm, three fire engines from Bolton Central and Farnworth attended a building fire in Monton Street, Bolton.
The fire was in a derelict building and originated from rubbish within the building. When firefighters arrived they used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and ventilation fan to extinguish it.
The fire service were on the scene for 20 minutes.
Flat Fire – Partington
AT PRECISELY 8.04pm, three fire engines from Altrincham, Eccles and Irlam attended a flat fire in Moss Lane in Partington.
On arrival firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and thermal imaging camera to safely enter the flat and extinguish the fire. One person was treated at the scene and firefighters remained on the scene for 1 hour.
Flat Fire – Middleton
AT 20.50pm three fire engines from Blackley and Heywood attended a flat fire in Arbor Way, Middleton.
The fire began in the lounge of the flat and firefighters had to use four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a ventilation fan to bring it under control.
Firefighters remained on the scene for one hour and 25 minutes.
House Fire - Urmston
AT 21.47pm four fire engines from Stretford, Sale and a hydraulic platform from Whitehill responded to a fire in Atkinson Road in Urmston.
The fire began in the chimney of the house and firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a thermal imaging camera to bring it under control and extinguish it.
Firefighters remained on the scene for one hour and 10 minutes.
