Following last year’s tragic double deaths at Bawsey Pits, and subsequent incidents, FF Adam Walford, Blue Watch Kings Lynn, has been working closely with the Sibelco to create an Emergency Pack that can be used by all three emergency services to assist with Command, Control and Co-ordination of search and rescue operations across the massive site. The watch (and in particular FF Adam Walford) have put a lot of time and effort into this project with a fantastic result.
Adam was able to secure funding from the company to pay for the packs to be produced, and additional mapping made available to the surrounding eight stations. The work done by Blue Watch together with the improvements implemented by Sibelco in relation to site signage and access routes will significantly enhance the management of any future incidents on the site for all agencies involved.
