Firefighters from Windsor fire station were amongst the 55 who attended a serious blaze at Marlow Rowing Club. The facility is used by five times Olympic medallist Sir Steve Redgrave. It is believed that the incident will affect the training pattern for the Olympic team.
The rowing event will be held at Dorney Lake next year bring an extra 30,000 people into the area every day-with many travelling along the Windsor and Eton Relief Road, which handles 22 million vehicles per year.
Incidents and events like these once again highlight the need to maintain 24 hour resilience at Windsor fire station.
