Cheshire Police are looking for public help after an incident at a Widnes Post Office.
A post man was in the process of delivering cash to The Ball Post Office, Liverpool Road, Widnes shortly before 11am on Wednesday 16 April.
The post man placed the items in a counter hatch at which point an offender who was hiding in an internal photo booth within the premises grabbed hold of them.
He pushed the post man with both hands causing the post man to fall. The offender then attempted to leave the premises but a member of the public intervened. After a short scuffle the offender broke free and managed to escape from the premises on to the busy main road.
The offender is described as a white with a pale complexion. He is believed to be in excess of 6ft tall, late 20â€²s and of proportionate build. He was wearing a peaked baseball cap, grey hooded jogging top, dark blue jeans and black trainers.
The 56-year-old post man received minor injuries and the member of the public who intervened was shaken but not injured.
