A man who drowned in Walsall Arboretumâ€™s lake last week has today been named as local man, Christopher Mills.
The 26-year-old, from Walsall, was formally identified by his family who continue to be supported by specialist liaison officers during this difficult time.
Mr Mills was seen to get into difficulty in the water at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 15 April. Emergency services rushed to the scene and two police officers went into the lake in an attempt to rescue Christopher, but were unable to reach him underwater.
Mr Millsâ€™ body was recovered the following day.
A post mortem examination found that he died from drowning. Further tests are to be conducted in due course.
Christopherâ€™s death is not being treated as suspicious but officers continue to investigate why he was in the water.
