Appeal After Man Assaulted and Robbed in Stowmarket

Police are appealing for information after a 21-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Stowmarket on Monday.
The incident happened between 8.50pm and 10.30pm on Monday, 28 March. The 21-year-old was walking home when he felt a hand on his shoulder and he was then assaulted by two males in an alleyway off Needham Road, that runs towards Glemsford Road. It’s thought he was knocked unconscious and when he came round his Addidas bag, containing a Samsung phone, a brown wallet and other items, was missing.
He went to Ipswich hospital when he was X-rayed and found to have a fractured skull. He also sustained swelling and bruising to his face.

Police were contacted about the incident yesterday morning, Tuesday 29 March, and enquiries are underway to trace the two men involved, who are both thought to be white. One is described as in his 20s to early 30s, around 6ft 2ins tall, of medium build, with spiky gelled dark hair and facial stubble and was wearing a black tracksuit, the other is shorter at around 5ft 7ins tall, of stocky to fat build, younger in his late teens to mid 20s and wearing a dark grey tracksuit and a black beanie hat with a bobble on.
Detectives are asking anyone who may recognise the description, anyone who may have seen two men in the area between these times or anyone with information about the incident to call west Suffolk CID by dialling Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 25122/16.
