Investigation Launched Following Cape Hill Stabbing

An area of Cape Hill, Smethwick is currently cordoned off as police continue to deal with a report of a serious assault.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 12.50pm today following reports of a man with a stab wound at the Internet Cafe on Cape Hill.
The man believed to be in his twenties is currently being treated by medical staff for serious injuries.

Officers are in the area as they continue to search for the suspect who is described as black, with short dark hair and believed to be in his twenties.
Detective Inspector Justin Spanner, from the force’s CID department, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
“We continue to speak to witnesses and would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to make themselves known to officers.
“We are in the process of informing the man’s family of the injuries and it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stageâ€
