Armed Robbery at Manchester Bookmakers

Police have released the image of a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Manchester city centre.
The robber had spent several hours placing bets in the Ladbrokes betting shop on Portland Street on Saturday 12 March 2016.
He waited until the manager was on his own and suddenly produced a knife, ordering him to empty the gaming machines and the till. He then managed to steal a quantity of cash before fleeing the store. It happened at around 8.40pm.

The offender was described as white, between 5ft 11in and 6ft tall, with a very slim build, short dark brown or black hair and a thin face. He is described as speaking with an Eastern European accent and was wearing a black cross diamond patterned jacket with a dark hoodie underneath and light blue jeans.
Detective Constable Sarah Wright, based in the city centre, said: â€œThis desperate thief was clearly biding his time until there was only member of staff left on their own.
â€œThe manager managed to get a good look at him of course, but we have been unable to find the offender. That is why we have decided to release the photo of the suspect today and we hope that anyone who recognises him will call the police.â€
