Woman, 88, Robbed at Her Home in Colne

We are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed at her home in Colne.
At around 5.20pm on Saturday 23 April the victim, aged 88, was at her address on Birtwistle Fold when she heard her doorbell ring. She went to answer the door, believing it to be her daughter, before a man pushed her back into the house causing her to fall to the floor.
He pulled her to her feet and demanded to know where she kept her money. He made off with £300 in cash and ran towards the direction of the town centre.

The victim was taken to Burnley General Hospital where she was treated for a cut to her forearm and bruising.
The man is described as white, tanned, around 25 to 30 years old, 5ft 9in, slim build. He was described as wearing all navy clothing including a long sleeved top and dark coloured flat pumps.
DS Louise Darcy of East CID said: “This is a shocking incident whereby an elderly woman has been robbed in her own home and she has been left extremely shaken by what has happened to her. It took place in the early evening and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything that could help with our enquiries to contact us as soon as possible.â€
