Last weekend, Officers took part in an off-road bike operation on Nantyglo mountain just above West Mon Golf Club.
This is an area has recently been a particular concern for us, with increased reports of motorcycles, quad and 4x4s driving illegally and in an anti-social manner.
A total of 37 motorcycles and quads were disrupted from destroying the countryside and wildlife.

9 section 59 warnings were issued – if they are caught again within the next 12 months, their bike will be seized.
3 quads were also seized for not having any insurance.
PC Simon James said:
“Off-road bikes cause a noise nuisance and a danger to local residents in addition to causing long lasting damage to our countryside.
“Whilst we are not out to spoil people’s fun, especially those that do ride legally and abide by the laws, we want to remind users that these sorts of vehicles can cause alarm and distress to residents particularly when driven through residential areas.
“If you do witness anyone driving off-road vehicles illegally you can report them to Police by calling Police on 101.”
