A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Mortlake.
Police were called at around 20:50hrs on Tuesday, 22 April, to a report of a man stabbed at the Tapestry public house on Lower Richmond Road, SW14.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.
The 49-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to St Georges Hospital where he later died at around 02:20hrs on 23 April. Next of kin have been informed.
Whilst officers believe they know who the victim is they await formal identification.
A post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
A 36-year-old man from Clapham was arrested at the scene, initially on suspicion of attempted murder, and taken into custody at south-west London police station. He was later further arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at this time.
Detectives from the Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating and incident room has opened at Putney.
