Two men have been charged with prison mutiny and criminal damage following an incident at HMP Highdown in October.
Officers were called to the prison at around 6pm on Monday, 21 October after reports prisoners had barricaded themselves into a cell.
Some of the prisoners were subsequently transferred to other prisons and an investigation into the incident followed.
Detectives from Surrey Police worked closely with the prison and the Ministry of Justice as part of their investigation.
On Thursday, 24 April, Nathaniel Nickel Johnson, 23, of Barkworth Road in London was charged with participating in prison mutiny and criminal damage. He is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court on Monday, 12 May.
On Friday, 25 April, Jordon Rowe, 20, of Leander Road, Thornton Heath was also charged with the same offences and is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 May.
