An incident in which a 24-year-old man had part of his left ear bitten off after being attacked by two men in central Brighton is being investigated by police.
It happened shortly after half-past midnight on Sunday, 30 March, near the junction of New Road and North Street, Brighton.
The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
Detective Constable Christopher Hike, of Brighton CID, said: “This was a nasty incident in which the victim sustained permanent injuries to his ear and had to undergo emergency surgery.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other useful information as to who was responsible is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or emailÂ [email protected], quoting serial 0057 of 30/3.
“Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers free and without having to give their name on 0800 555 111.”
