Joseph Moody, aged 58 from Scotch Street, Whitehaven, was found guilty of sexual offences and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Moody, pleaded not guilty on 6thÂ February at Carlisle Crown Court and was found guilty following trial, which began on 22ndÂ April 2014.

In addition to the prison sentence, the Judge also issued an indefinite Sex Offender Prevention Â Order.
DS Hayley Wilkinson, the investigating officer, said: â€œMoody used his position of trust to enable him to abuse his victim. The courage the victim has shown was a credit to them and their strength.
â€œWe encourage everyone to report any signs of abuse and unusual behaviour. All victims will receive dedicated support to help them through what is a very difficult time in order to stop the abuse and help them to rebuild their lives.
â€œWe work with partner agencies and support groups to help those in need.â€
