Police in Swansea are appealing for information following a rogue trader incident which happened on Saturday 17th May.
At around 11.30am â€“ midday an 83-year-old woman was approached in her home in Garrod Avenue, Dunvant by a man who said he was calling to fix damaged roof tiles.
The victim then handed over Â£80 to the suspect to buy materials but he has not been seen since.
The suspect â€“ who introduced himself as â€˜Stephenâ€™ â€“ is described as being white, 5ft 6ins â€“ 5ft 8ins in height, aged 25-35, of athletic build, with short light brown/blonde hair, clean shaven with tattoos on his left and right forearms. He wore a blue Jack and Jones branded t-shirt with jeans and blue denim slip-on shoes.
Detective Constable Gareth Phillips of Swansea CID said: â€œThis individual has attended the home of a woman aged in her 80s and duped her into handing over Â£80 after telling her that there was damage to the roof of her home.
â€œWe are appealing to anyone who knows the identity of the suspect or recognises him from the detailed description given to come forward and contact the police.â€
