A man has been charged after a store was targeted by robbers three times in just over a month.
On 6 and 25 April and 10 May 2014, the One Stop Store in Hollingworth was targeted by robbers.
On one occasion cash was stolen, on another occasion and cash, cigarettes and alcohol was stolen and on a third occasion the offenders fled empty handed.
On 19 May 2014, following a proactive investigation by officers from GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group a car was stopped on Manchester Road, Hyde and the driver arrested.
A search of his address led to the recovery of various items including weapons and clothing and footwear believed to be linked to the series of robberies.
Paul Otis Turner (22/01/1973), of Earnshaw Street, Hollingworth has been charged with three counts of robberies.
He is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 21 May 2014.
