Police are appealing for information following a house fire in Leeds.
At 9.37am Wednesday 28th May Â police were called to The Crescent, Tingley,Â following the blaze which hospitalised a 45-year-old man with non-life threatening burns and smoke inhalation.
Detective Inspector Sean Duggan of Leeds CID, said:Â
“This incident is beingÂ treated as arson and an investigation has been launched by West Yorkshire Police.
Superintendent Mabs Hussain, from Leeds District Police, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their understanding and patience following the gas explosion yesterday morning.
“This understandably caused a great deal of shock and upset but I would like to reassure people that we have arrested a local 45-year-old man and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
“The circumstances leading to the explosion are still being investigated and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
“A 45-year-old man, who was rescued from the property, is continuing to receive treatment in hospital but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.”
