Two men – including a serving MPS Inspector based in TSG – have today, Friday 30 May, been charged with possession with intent to supply class â€˜Câ€™ drugs.
Darren Lewis, 47, of Essex, a serving Inspector, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to supply Class ‘C’ drugs, one count of conspiracy to produce Class ‘C’ drugs and one count of money laundering.
Nicholas Boys, 30, of Essex has been charged with with one count of conspiracy to supply Class ‘C’ drugs and one count of conspiracy to produce Class ‘C’ drugs.
Both men were arrested on 9 September 2013, following a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Essex. The search was carried out by officers from the Met’s Department of professional standards.
Both have been bailed to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court on 10 June.
As a matter of course, Inspector Lewis has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of this investigation.
