Officers from the specialist Matrix Serious Organised Crime team haveÂ arrested three peopleÂ inÂ Newton-le-Willows and Haydock, St Helens this morning (Monday, 9 June 2014) as part of a crackdown on drug supply.
A 22-year-old man fromÂ Newton-le-Willows has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned n the production of Class A controlled drugs. A 22-year-old man from Haydock has been arrested on suspcion of being concerned in the production of class A controlled drugs andÂ possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis). A 24-year-old woman from Haydock has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).
DS Mark Baker, from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime team, said: “Merseyside Police is committed to tackling those who deal in drugs and make money peddling misery in our communities. Our. Message is clear if you are intent on drug dealing in Merseyside then we will do everything in our power to put the evidence together and put you before the courts.”
During a search of the property in Haydock officersÂ seized a quantity of cannabis and a large amount of cash.
