A 26-year-old man has been jailed for three years for burglary dwelling, assaulting a police officer and being in possession of a Class B drug.
Stephen Gibson, of Burlington Avenue, Slough was arrested and charged on 24 May. The sentence relates to an incident which took place on 23 May this year. Â At approximately 8pm Gibson forced entry into a property on Jocks Lane, in Bracknell and attempted to steal high value electrical items. Witnesses challenged Gibson and officers arrived at the scene. During examination he was found to be in possession of a Class B drug.
He was taken into police custody and during this time, Gibson assaulted a police officer.
Gibson appeared in at Reading Crown Court on Monday 9 June and pleaded guilty to one count of burglary dwelling, one count of assault and one count of being in possession of a Class B drug.
Senior Investigating Officer DC Alex Hillan said: “This is an excellent result, Gibson committed three different types of crime on that night and the consequences of his actions are clear.
“Gibson’s victims should now feel a sense of justice, and this sentence should act as a strong deterrent to any potential offenders in Bracknellâ€.
