Detectives appeal for information after the body of man was found in Hackney.
Police were called on Saturday, 21 June, by London Ambulance Service to a man found deceased in Ashanti Mews, Hackney E8.
The 45-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Formal ID has taken place and all next of kin are aware.
He is Lee Buckley, 43 (12.10.70) of Ashanti Mews, Hackney E8.
The death was initially treated as unexplained.
A post-mortem examination commenced on Tuesday, 24 June at Poplar Mortuary but failed to establish a cause of death.
The post-mortem examination continued on Thursday, 26 June and could not determine cause of death. We await further tests.
The post mortem examination has indicated he may have been dead in the flat for a period of weeks.
His death is now being treated as suspicious due to injuries found during the post mortem examination.
Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigate.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. He was released on bail to a date in July.
DCI Neale Baldock of the HMCC said: “I am eager to piece together Lee’s last movements and trace his friends or associates to help with this investigation. They may hold some key information on what happened to him.”
