Detectives from the Flying Squad investigating a smash and grab at the Dorchester Hotel have recovered the vast majority of the items stolen during the robbery. At approximately 0220hrs on Thursday, 10 July, six men on three mopeds pulled up outside the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, W1. Three of the men made their way to the entrance and smashed their way through the door. Once inside the hotel, three display cabinets were smashed open and a quantity of watches and jewellery were stolen. The men left moments later, fleeing the scene on the waiting mopeds. At around 1430hrs the same day, three men [A - 23ys], [B - 66ys], [C - 27ys] and a woman [D -46ys] were arrested at an address in the Kings Cross area. [A] was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to handle stolen goods, whilst the other three were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to handle stolen goods. All four were taken to a central London police station where they remain in custody. Detectives believe that they have recovered the vast majority of the items stolen, all of which were found at the address in Kings Cross. Also seized were three mopeds and enquires continue to establish if these were the vehicles used in the robbery. Officers continue to appeal for information and witnesses and are focusing their efforts on tracing a number of outstanding individuals wanted in connection with the robbery. Detectives know that six people attended the Hotel to carry out the robbery and are actively seeking at least another five people.
