Police are hunting a man in connection with a terrifying robbery on a woman in front of her five-year-old son.
Officers want to speak to Benjamin Jason Breheny (born 02/08/1991), of the Burnage area, in connection with the robbery which took place on 15 May 2014 on Overlea Drive, Green End, Manchester.
The woman was out walking with her five-year-old son when she was pushed to the ground by an offender who put his knee to her back, effectively pinning her to the ground.
She was repeatedly punched in the face and had her jewellery ripped from her.
The thief then ran off.
Police are now appealing to anyone who has information about Breheny’s whereabouts to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the woman who was pinned to the floor, attacked and robbed right in front of her young son. Clearly she was extremely traumatised by what happened and we are doing everything we can to find her attacker and bring him to justice.
“We want to speak to Breheny in connection with this robbery so I would appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts to call us. I would also strongly urge Breheny to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
