A 30 year old man is due to stand before magistrates on Friday morning after having been charged in connection with an incident in Hythe.
Kent Police received a report of a sexual assault after 7.30am on Sunday 22 June along the Royal Military canal footpath, which runs parallel to Seabrook Road.
Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have been investigating and arrested a man in connection with the incident.
Christopher Michael Hatcher, 30, of Dymchurch Road in Hythe, has subsequently been charged with sexual assault, kidnap, false imprisonment, outraging public decency and robbery.
He remains in custody to appear at Medway Magistratesâ€™ Court on Friday 18 July.
