Police are hunting for a man who attempted to entice two young boys into performing a sex act.
During the afternoon of Saturday 5th July 2014, two boys aged 7 and 8 were playing football in the Troydale Estate in Newton Heath when they were approached by a man on a bike.
The man called the two boys over and then asked if he could perform a sex act on them.
The boys refused and the offender rode away.
The offender is described as white, aged between 40 and 50 years old and standing between 5ft 6 and 6ft tall with a skinny build, crooked teeth and short, grey thinning hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, combat shorts and sunglasses on his head.
PC Karen Jones said: “This will understandably be a disturbing case for parents in the area and I would like to assure them that we are doing everything we can to catch the man responsible.
“While no harm came to the children we have to act under the assumption that this man intended to act upon his words.
“We have increased patrols in this area and are asking people not to take matters into their own hands, but to contact Police if they see someone matching the above description.”
