A man has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for drugs offences in Reading.
Ikram Ali, aged 24, of Gas Works Road in Reading, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (heroin) on 8 April last year. He was then charged with the offence on 1 October, 2013.
Ali pleaded guilty to the charge against him at Reading Crown Court and was yesterday charged to two years’ imprisonment.
Investigating officer, Det Con Emma Wright of Force CID based at Reading said: “This sentence should act as a reminder to potential offenders that Thames Valley Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have a zero tolerance approach to drugs offences. Those who do offend will be charged and sent to court.â€
