Officers from Operation Winthorpe made a further arrestÂ on 22 July.Â The man [B] aged 61 was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child. He has been bailed to return to a police station in Norfolk on a date in October.
Operation Winthorpe is an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service’s Paedophile Unit into a number of allegations of non-recent sexual abuse alleged to have taken place in the Barnes area.
On 4 June 2013 a man [B] was arrested on suspicion of sexual grooming of a child. He was later released with no further action in relation to that arrest.
On 27 February 2014 a 65-year-old man [C] was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He was further arrested on 7 July 2014 on suspicion of two further sexual assaults. He has been bailed to return on a date in September.
On 18 June 2014, officers arrested a 67-year-old man [D] in connection with allegations of indecent assault. He has been bailed to return to a south London police station on a date in September.
On 1 July 2014, a 52-year-old woman [E] was arrested in connection with allegations of sexual assault and taken into police custody in Shropshire. She has since been bailed to return on a date in September pending further inquiries.
On 8 July 2014 a 68-year-old man [F] was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child. He has been bailed to return to a west London police station on a date in early October.
A 57-year-old man [A] has been arrested and charged in connection with this investigation.
