Detectives are appealing for information after a 14 year old girl reported she was raped in Blackpool.
The teenager from Coventry, who was on holiday at the time, is thought to have met a man in the News and Booze off licence on Talbot RoadÂ between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday 24 August. It is believed that they then walked to the beach close to North PierÂ where the incident allegedly took place.
Police would like to speak to a man who was seen with the girl at around 11.30pm on North Pier.
He is described as a white male in his early twenties with dark hair and spoke with an Irish accent. At the time he was wearing blue jeans, white trainers, a red checked shirtÂ or possiblyÂ a purple hoody.
Detective Inspector Andy Bunn of Blackpool Police said: â€œWe are particularly keen to trace the man who was seen with this young girl on North Pier and I would urge him to come forward and speak to us. Similarly, I would urge anyone who may have seen anything around this time or might have any information about what happened to contact us on 101.â€
