PC David Hutchison, aged 42, a firearms officer appeared at Southwark Crown Court yesterday, Monday, 15 September having been summonsed to answer a charge of dangerous driving.
The officer, who is attached to the Met’s specialist firearms command, pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving but guilty to careless driving. This was accepted by the court.
The offence occurred on 29 September 2012 at approximately 15.30hrs when the police car PC Hutchison was driving collided with a VW Golf car at the junction of the A4 Great West Road and Gliddon Road, W14.
PC Hutchinson was asked to pay Â£250 costs, received three points on his license and given a 12-month conditional discharge.
The officer is currently on restricted duties and will face a misconduct review.
