Police investigating the rape of a 40-year-old woman as she walked her dog in Salford have today, Wednesday 8 October 2014, charged a man.
Christopher Johnson, born 20/12/84, of Anaconda Drive, Greengate, Salford, has been charged with rape, sexual assault and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
He is due before Salford Magistrates Court tomorrow, 9 October 2014.
At around 6am on Sunday 5 October 2014, the woman was walking near to New Bank Towers in Blackfriars area when she was approached by a man who started to talk to her.
As they reached Mount Street, towards the back of The Friars Primary School, he dragged her into nearby bushes and raped her.
