Officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU) working alongside colleagues from the Hampshire Constabulary and Metropolitan Police Service conducted a number of warrants across Hampshire and London this morning (14/10).
Three men and three women were arrested at two addresses in Portsmouth; one address in Farnborough and one in Greenwich.
Two of the men, aged 26 and 23 from Portsmouth, were arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
A 23-year-old woman from Farnborough and a 29-year-old woman from Greenwich were also arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
A 57-year-old man from Portsmouth, was arrested under Section 38(b) of the Terrorism Act 2000 failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, Section 5 1(a) Terrorism Act 2006 engaged in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts and Section 17 Terrorism Act 2000 arranging availability of money and property for use in terrorism.
A 48-year-old woman from Portsmouth was arrested under Section 38(b) Terrorism Act 2000 failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism.
