Police in Cardiff are investigating a burglary of a house in Waun Fach, Pentwyn, which occurred sometime between 10.00am and midday on Thursday 23rd October.
Access was gained to the property after a lower glass panel to the front door was smashed.
Among the stolen items was a collection of approximately 200 Roman coins including rare Republican coins, contained in a home made black coin box with 3 felt coin trays inside. In addition a silver coloured folder containing a collection of historical bank notes and stamps from the time of World War 2 and Iraqi notes from the time of Saddam Hussein.Â A black Fujitsu Lifebook was also stolen form the property.
Detective constable Rhian Clayton from Rumney CID said: â€œThis burglary took place in broad daylight and whoever was responsible smashed a glass panel to the front door which would have made a lot of noise.
â€œWe are appealing for anyone who may have heard something or seen anyone behaving suspiciously in the area of Waun Fach on Thursday morning to contact us.Â We also want to hear from anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen property.â€
