Police are appealing for information after a man lost his life in a Wolverhampton collision yesterday (4 November).
Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 7.05pm to the junction of Myatt Avenue and Parkfield Road following reports of a van in collision with a pedestrian.
The ambulance service treated a 72-year-old man but unfortunately despite their best efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed that the man may have been crossing the road at the junction when he was in collision with the white sprinter van and now officers from the collision investigation unit are appealing for information.
PC Chris Ridge said: “This would have happened at a relatively busy time of night and we now need people to come forward who may have witnessed the collision.
“Specialist officers continue to liaise with the family of the man who lost his life and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
The road was closed whilst officers investigated the collision and was re-opened at around 9.30pm.
The driver was spoken to at the scene.
