A guard dog called Bear who was stolen from a property in Colney Street has been found.
At around 9.30pm on Sunday, November 30, German Shepherd Bear was stolen from a business in Moor Mill Lane after a vehicle was used to remove part of the property’s perimeter fence where Bear was inside.
Earlier in the week an appeal, with a photo of Bear, was sent to the press and shared across social media. Following this, a number of calls were made to Hertfordshire Constabulary reporting possible sightings of Bear.
In the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday, December 7) Bear was taken to Hatfield Police Station after two members of the public had found him wandering in a road.
Bear has since been reunited with his owner and has been taken to a vet for a check over. Despite appearing to be dehydrated and having a cut to one of his paws, Bear is expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation into who took Bear continues and anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact PCSO Gilling via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference F3/14/1722. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
