A 30-year-old man has been sentenced following his conviction for burglary offences in Reading.
Jacob Trussler, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 28 November to four years and four months’ imprisonment for two burglary offences and two years’ imprisonment, to run concurrently, for taking a vehicle without consent.
He had pleaded guilty to the offences at a previous court hearing on 10 November.
On 15 September Trussler smashed the window in a back door in a property in Whitley Wood Road and stole numerous items including mobile phones.
He then stole the victim’s vehicle and collided with another vehicle in Westcote Road, Reading, before running away.
In a burglary on 19 October Trussler entered a property in Spring Terrace through a lounge window. He then confronted the occupants, before being chased away by another occupant.
He was charged with the burglary in Whitley Wood Road, Reading, on 20 October.
Speaking following the hearing, investigating officer PC Graham Ammundsen, from Reading Local Area CID, said: “This man is a prolific and determined burglar.
“In the commission of one of the offences, the victim was still in the address which was hugely distressing for them. The effects on the victims from each of his crime are still considerable.â€
