On Tuesday 09 December 2014, Police Scotland received a report from Drakies Primary School that a parent had been in touch with the school to report an incidentÂ which occurred at about 15:15 hours on Monday 08 December 2014, where an unknown man had approached their child on a path between Drummossie Avenue and MacKenzie Park Gardens. The child responded in the correct manner and subsequently walked away. The man did not make any further effort to speak to the child and walked away in the direction of Drummossie Avenue.
Police officers have been to speak to the family of the child, who provided a comprehensive description of the man. He was described as white, 30-40 years-old, approximately 5ft 6in andÂ facial stubble. He was wearing a black beanie hat; which was down over his eyebrows, a grey round neck t-shirt, a brown zipped jacket and blue jeans. The man was also described as speaking with a strong Scottish accent.
Drakies Primary School has held assemblies with pupils andÂ issued a letter with information and support to parents regarding the matter. A Police Scotland Community Beats Officer will also be visiting the school to provide further suitable advice.
PoliceÂ ScotlandÂ wouldÂ seekÂ to reassure the public thatÂ extensive enquiries have been carried out into the matter andÂ these remainÂ ongoingÂ at this time.
To date, there are no further reports of the man approaching any other pupils of Drakies Primary School or other children in the immediate vicinity.
Police would like to speak to the man and would also appeal to anyone who may have any information which can help identify him, to contact the Police on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where the information can be given anonymously.
