Officers from the North East Regional Special Operations Unit (NERSOU) have charged a man with conspiring to supply class A drugs.
Stephen Vaughan, 56, of Ravensworth Apartments, in Dunston Gateshead, has been charged with conspiring to supply heroin, conspiring to supply cannabis and concealing criminal property / money laundering.
He appeared at Gateshead Magistrates’ Court on December 15, and has been remanded in police custody.
Vaughan, and another man (aged 32) were arrested on Friday, December 12, as part of an operation in Addison Industrial estate in Blaydon. Officers seized around Â£16,000 of cash and several kilos of class A and B drugs after a warrant was carried out a premises on the industrial estate.
The 32-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
