CCTV released after man attacked in the street
Police have issued CCTV footage of a pair they would like to trace after a man was assaulted in Wednesbury.
The attack, in Vicarage Road just after 9.30pm on Sunday 19 October, left the 41-year-old victim unconscious. He was taken to hospital where he remained critically ill for two weeks. He is now recovering at home.
Police have scoured CCTV of the area and have now released footage of the man and girl they would like to speak to.
Detective Sergeant Leighton Shingles said: “We have made extensive enquiries, but so far we have not identified the man responsible for the assault. We hope that the two in the footage may have vital information which could help our investigation.
“The victim continues to recover and we need to bring his attacker to justice.”
The two in the footage are described as a white man, aged in his mid 30s to 40s, between 5ft 2ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with very thin or even gaunt facial features, short mousey brown hair, who smokes. He was in the company of a young white girl, aged between 12 and mid teens, of slim build, around 5ft 5ins tall, with loose curly or wavy hair, with dark roots but otherwise dyed red.
