The family of a man from head injuries following an assault in Guildford at the weekend (Sunday, 4 January) have paid tribute to him.
“What can you say about a man who was everybody’s friend? He was a gentle giant who cared.
“Richard gave so much love and laughter, he would help anybody who needed it, and the help he gave had to be right, when it came to doing things he was a perfectionist.
“Richard had a wicked sense of humour and loved a joke, his music and his beloved West Ham.
“Richard was a dedicated loyal worker who never took time off.
“How proud we all are of our Richard as a son, father, brother, uncle and husband. He was a good guy.”
Richard’s nephew Shaun paid tribute to his uncle: “Over the last couple of years he was the nearest to a big brother I could have had.”
