A man has been arrested in connection with an arson incident in North Tyneside.
At 5:14am on Sunday, January 18, police received a report that a window of an address in Roseberry Grange had been smashed and an object, that had been set on fire, thrown inside the property.
The occupant was woken by the noise of the window smashing and got out of the house safely with her young baby.
The fire was extinguished and the woman and baby have been taken to hospital to be checked over.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and is currently in police custody.
