Police are appealing for witnesses following an arson in Sunderland.
The fire happened at a house on Geddes Road, on Tuesday, January 27, at 12.25am.
The occupant put the fire out prior to emergency services arrival and no one was injured during the incident. It’s believed an accelerant was put through the letter box at the address and set alight.
Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact them.
Two men were seen in the area around the time of the incident and police would like to speak with them as they may have information to help enquiries.
Extra officers are out on patrol in the area to offer reassurance to residents.
