Detectives have arrested a fifth person in connection with the death of a man following an altercation in the Guildford area yesterday (Monday 2 February).
The 28-year-oldÂ woman was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of assisting an offender and is currently in custody.
A 24-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman who were arrested yesterday have been released on conditional bail until February 11.
A 36-year-old woman, who was also arrested yesterday, and a 24-year-old man who was detained in the early hours of this morning remain in custody at this time.
Officers were called to the Royal Surrey County Hospital following reports that a 24-year-old man from the local area had been admitted with stab injuries at around 3.35pm following an altercation in Aldershot Road.
He sadly died a short while later. A post mortem examination carried out today has found the cause of death to be a single stab wound to the chest. A formal identification process is yet to be carried out and enquiries remain ongoing.
