Police in south Cumbria have released CCTV images as part of an investigation into the theft of a passbook where an offender has made subsequent fraudulent transactions of over Â£1800.
The theft of the passbook occurred at some point before or on the 16th September 2014. Following this theft, between the 16thSeptember and Â 27th September 2014 the offender has made fraudulent transactions at the Ulverston branch of the Furness Building Society.
PC Shaari Black said:
â€œWe would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image in connection with this theft. We appeal to anyone who recognises him to make contact, any information provided could be crucial to our investigation.
â€œThe victim was an elderly man and the money withdrawn was his pension. It is saddening that someone would resort to this behaviour and we will not tolerate this.â€
