A 31-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Kingâ€™s Lynn last night (Friday 13 February) involving the deployment of armed police.
Officers were called to Tesco in Gaywood shortly before 7.40pm following reports of a knifepoint robbery and a car hijacking.
A number of units were deployed and enquiries led officers to arrest a man in nearby Tennyson Avenue a short time later.
Andrew Hennells, of Riverview Way, Gaywood, Kingâ€™s Lynn, has been charged with two counts of robbery and is accused of stealing Â£410 in cash and a motor vehicle.
He also faces a charge of harassment and possession of an offensive weapon (kitchen knife) in connection with the incident.
Hennells has been remanded in police custody to appear at Kingâ€™s Lynn Magistrates Court on Monday 16 February.
