Two people arrested under Operation Elveden have been bailed.
Officers from Operation Elveden yesterday, Wednesday, 18 February, made two arrests.
A 47-year old man [Elveden Arrest 88] and 44-year-old woman [Elveden Arrest 89], both former prison officers, were arrested at an address in Suffolk.
They were arrested for misconduct in a public office (Contrary to Common Law) and conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office. (Contrary to Sec 1 Criminal Law Act 1977) and taken to a Suffolk police station.
They were subsequently bailed on the same day to a date in June.
Operation Elveden is the MPS inquiry into allegations of inappropriate payments to police and public officials. It is being supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and is running in conjunction with Operation Weeting, the MPS phone-hacking inquiry.
