Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Hackney.
On Saturday, 7 February at around 21:30hrs, the victim, who was parked in his black Mazda 2 car in Chatham Place, near to Meeting Field Path, E9 was approached by two men.
The victim got out of his car and was involved in an altercation with the men and was stabbed in the neck. He was able to make his way back to his car and drove to Homerton Hospital where he was subsequently transferred to an east London hospital.
On Monday, 16 February the victim died from his injuries.
Next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Gokhan Durmus .
A post-mortem examination held on Thursday,19 February at Poplar Mortuary gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.
This morning, Wednesday, 25 February detectives arrested two men on suspicion on murder.
A 21-year-old man [A] was arrested in Sussex and a 18-year-old man [B] was arrested at an address in Hackney. Both are currently in custody at a north London police station.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge are investigating.
Detectives retain an open mind in regards to the motive and enquiries continue.
